EuSEM Resource Gallery: Lessons Learned from Brussels and Paris Attacks

Created on Friday, 06 May 2016

In the aftermath of the Paris and Brussels attacks in November 2015 and March 2016 respectively, the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EuSEM INPO) has gathered resources to help Emergency Departments prepare and prevent such mass shootings in the future.

The EuSEM resource gallery includes official guidance notes and reports from national government departments, as well as articles published in well-known journals. The guidance notes and articles touch upon such subjects as mass shootings and mass hostage takings, explosive device and active shooter incidents, injuries suffered in bombings and their care, best methods to stop bleeding, external haemorrhage control, as well as improved and coordinated response.

EuSEM is a non-profit making scientific organisation whose aim is to promote and foster the concept, philosophy and the art of emergency medicine throughout Europe.

The EuSEM resource gallery is available here.
